PR Manager, Paul + Williams

Job Description:

Paul + Williams, a full service Marketing/Public Relations firm, is looking for someone to join its New York team in the PR Manager role. The ideal candidate will have an interest in fashion & lifestyle, entertainment, digital, marketing and media. They’re looking for a critical thinker who is organized, hardworking, responsible, enthusiastic, and proactive. Strong communication skills are critical.


Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact. 

  • Develop seasonal PR plans for specific projects and report regularly to clients on the status of secured, ongoing, and pending PR efforts. 

  • Strategize partnerships and social media initiatives to execute and deploy. 

  • Draft press materials such as pitches, outreach lists, and/or press releases. 

  • Facilitate the planning and execution of press dinners, seasonal press previews, store openings, and other events, depending on the client’s needs. 

  • Supervise intern + assistant-level colleagues. 

  • Manage multiple projects from concept to completion on time and within budget.

  • Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client success. 

  • Help develop and write strategic memos and client presentations. 

  • Provide client counsel on tactical matters, linked to strategic plans. 

  • Maintain relationships with media and secure pro-active publicity for clients.

  • Manage the development of press materials. 

  • Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client. 

  • Instruct entry-level staff in the areas of media relations and writing/document creation.


Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of public relations experience (agency experience preferred) 

  • Experience working on apparel is a plus. 

  • Excellent media relations skills and established network of contacts and understanding of the media landscape. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

  • Can work independently and within a team setting. 

  • Ability to lead multiple projects and interact with clients. 

  • Can solve problems, think strategically and creatively.

  • High level of proficiency with G-Suite, Microsoft Office, and Mac hardware and software.
